I always wear the strap that comes with watch and could not understand why others don't.

For my PAM (in fact for most of my watches), I brought a deployment buckle as it is much easier to wear and keep the strap in a good condition without the ugly visible folds at the buckle end.

For me i always keep the OEM straps of my watches unworn in the boxes....prefer the aftermarket straps as can customised to my wrist...and length too...

Easier to sell in the future too....OEM straps are costly compared to aftermarket...hehehe...

          My 2 cents of views...

Disclaimer: i do not own a pam...

I wear everything....OEM plus after market.

When I had a few pams, I will use the same OEM leather or rubber on all the Pams...rotate. The other OEMS can keep as new.

                Aftermarket...

is my choice. For the very same reasons what my Flying Dragon Brother mentioned (Sorry bro), the ability to customise. I like my straps to have a lil bit of tail and the OEM leather straps is a tad bit too short and thin if I may add. I used to love Panerai rubber straps, that's until I found a better replacement for the rubber...

Now, I dont wear any OEM leather or rubber...all of my straps are aftermarket. Love the thickness and 'weight' of the strap when mounted onto my pam. Afterall straps are one of the reasons that makes Panerai what it is now.

                To each their own.

                Cheers.

                  thanks all for the replies.

for me i just can't bear to use the straps so i went aftermarket immediately. still looking for the perfect strap.

the one i'm using now is abit loose, and the buckle sucks. haha!

Orginal straps are always nice to keep in showcase but too thin to wear plus abit short for big wrists'. Next, it's expensive to replace them of worn -off,IMO

I wear them all..OEM (esp the JV and rubber) and aftermarket. Plus on the aftermarket is you can customize esp if you love long tails..and plus for the OEM is they fit like gloves..perfectly everytime!
