  • Question on power reserve on a PAM 321

    Hi,

Just got my new PAM 321. But the power reserve needle is not moving even though the watch is working(running). Do I have to do something to activate the power reserve or.....??? Need advise from you gurus out there.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

did u not try to wind the watch and observe the PR when you bought your watch in Paris?

Yes I did. It moves to the second line on the PR dial at the boutique whe the SA wind the watch. Then I wind it till the end of the PR dial in my hotel. But it decreases the next day. Thought it should keep on increasing as I wear it.Will send to Richemont to check when I am back in SG.:-(

overnight the PR decreasing is normal. it will take a lot of hand movements to wind the wind the PR back to full.

I see. At least now I know that I am not having a problem wif the PR. But if I were to wear the watch everyday and put it in a watch winder when not wearing, will the PR still be decreasing? Reason why I ask is that I have another watch with PR, but it does not decrease when I put it in my watch winder for days.

Won't decrease, it will increase to max if put on winder
You can just try wearing and circle your arm, few circle movements will charge up the PR tiny bit. The rotor must rotate full circle in order to charge the PR. Limited movement as direct horizontally/vertically movement wont charge it.

That is what I thought so too. But mine is decreasing even though I put it in my winder after wearing for one day. Will try to rotate the watch more times with a different setting on my winder and observe if it will charge up the PR.

don't worry bro, its normal for the PR to decrease when u put it in winder, PR will charge up the 2nd day.

Initially, I was using 1000 both directions. But was told by my AD to set to 600-650 anticlockwise. So what should be the right setting?

Don't worry, I wear mine daily for the first week I bought it, the PR never more than half. I find that 850 bidirectional is the best setting for the P.9000 calibre

Haiz....different people are telling me different story. Some said that the watch can only be powered up in one direction. Clockwise or anti-clockwise. But some said that only anti-clockwise. Called Richemont and they are not very sure as well. Just ask me to send my watch down for them to check. Guess I have to just to reassure myself that the watch is not having problems.

If you refer to the Orbita database, P9000 movement is stated as bi-directional. Well, it also meant it can be wind up in any direction. So all your advises are correct.
