kind of. Do u know what it means?

"Yattokame" is Nagoya-ben (dialect) for "Long time no see"
One of my favourite phrases of all time. The time I speak it also signals the start of another holiday in Japan with my jap friends

Thanks for explaining the meaning of your nick. For a moment I thought you said Nagoya "beng" hahaha...Oops, sorry for OT.

some luxury outlets have 5% tax rebate for purchases above 10,000 yen. Some are on-the-spot discount, while some are jap yen cash return at their tax-return counter (either in the shop or at the airport).

Just produce your passport and ask for "menzei"(免税). Or "Gai-kokku-jin desu. Menzei?" (foreigner. tax free?).

As for the pricing, the exchange rate is kind of high to enjoy any bargains, and some are even costlier. But I had a good time a few years back when the exchange rate was SGD1.27 per 100 yen. It's around 1.55 lately.

Great pic you have took! Been to the same places in Tokyo from the last two weeks and visited the Officine Panerai Boutique too...

I've checked the prices there (both watches and luxury goods) and it's slightly higher compared to Singapore even though after tax refund...

Thanks guys for the info. Possibly going to Tokyo soon and was hoping to shop (maybe check out Grand Seikos), but guess that's a poor idea with the exchange rate where it is.

The only thing I know that is cheaper despite the exchange rate is Fancl. But not all products as well.

If you want check out the Grand Seiko, I recommend you to visit WACO Department Store at Ginza with the famous tower clock...Basement is where all branded and luxury watches which includes Grand Seiko. However, you can go to the Seiko Boutique which is just next to the WACO Building on the left and you can also ask the SE to direct you which they will personlly bring you there...Their service is excellent!

By the way, I bought my Seiko automatic there... Enjoy and happy hunting...

My 2nd trip to Tokyo and still no chance to go the Jackroad shops due....... no guy kakis lor, wife and the sis only interested in ladies fashions n factory outlet malls.
But the price for preowned watches in Tokyo is on the high side as i saw a few shops in Shinjuku selling higher.
Hope my next trip go with all guys only, abandon the ladies at home....hehehe
                          Thanks bro Kuchinku
