  • which one to get PAM 104 or PAM 312

    Dear PAM Collectors,

Can you give me some advice? I was thinking to upgrade my PAM to a automatic as i am tired of winding my PAM 111...I was thinking of 104 or 312.

I am drawn to PAM 104 as it is much affortable as it can be obtain under $7000 from grey dealer and it has the the same casing as PAM 111. The things i do not like of PAM 104 is the non clear back and the crownguard. Thew newer entry level PAM has already upgraded their crownguard except PAM 104.

For 312, i like everything except that i read the review in the forum that it looks bigger and fatter than the entry level PAMs due to its casing and the higher price than PAM 104. i have a small wrist about 6.5 inch and i am worried it looks awkward on me.

Many issues with Panerai P9000 in-house movement. Stay with ETA if want a robust proven movement.

Had my 312 for more than a year, no issue so far.

The 3-days power reserve is a big plus over the 104 as you can usually leave it over the weekend without losing time. Yes, the thicker case do bother me a little at times but it is such a beauty to behold. Size wise, do fit my 6.3" wrist.

Perhaps one of the best buy for an in-house movement under 10K.

get the 104 as its a classic..312 is not so comfortable if u have a small wrist as u will feel the heavy weight of the watch after wearing it for a few hrs. u will not go wrong with the 104 if u are using it as an everyday watch.
          just my 2cts worth..good luck!

I used to own 3 pams with P9000 movement. None gave any problems. Where you heard that from? And I visit Panerisiti forum everyday, dun recall seeing any post regarding problems with P9000 movement at all.

Opps, forgot to state my recommendation. Go for the 312 for the 1950s casing. Very nice!!

I want to try the 312 today. Seems fatter due to the back casing that house the movement. I was offered 104 at about $6750 weeks ago but i wanted to sell my PAM 111 first. Now after selling the PAM 111 but it is sold. There are really many 312 for sale the forum. Not sure what is the reason......

It may due to many ppl bought it when it launched and decided to sell it just like you after wearing it for a while or need $$$$ to flip other watches too,etc...Next 312 production quite alots so it obviously shown that more ppl bought it n coincidence that they sell it respectively.
On the other hand, like one of forumer mentioned,if you had a smaller wrist plus u had tried wearing on 312 and not so comfortable.
It's better to get 104 instead as it will never go wrong for daily wear, my 3 cents info, ciao

Hihi, I have a 6.5" wrist too and I had before both 104 and 320, 320 looks exactly the same as 312 except it has a GMT needle. It fitted my wrist perfectly. Go ahead and get the 312! Thats my recommendation
