Hi, has anyone sent their out-of-warranty Pam 233 for servicing and how much does it cost? As there were some well documented issues on the earlier series (ie I), will they still do it for free since it seems to be a manufacturing issue? Finally, how do they check the warranty expiry for PAM? Is it based on the card or do they have some central database based on serial number? Thanks for any help!

i was quoted for $1k 2 yrs ago,probably more now. Will they do it for free on the documented issues? wah bro i highly doubt so man....BUT you can try.

bro like i said before they will cross chk with the AD stamp on e book. (even as far as AD frm eu,they email for confirmation of purchased date) so dun be too happy if warranty card/book not dated....even its dated,it could have been "back dated". So thats why the cross chking with e AD.

The one at Wheelock is closed more than 2 yrs ago, right?
Btw, the service time is now 4mths long for Panerai cos the new Tech (younger one) resigned recently.
The old tech couldn't cope, so all Panerai regardless of in house or ETA will be shipped to Geneva for service.
I was informed last week.
Pls take note.

servicing the 233 cost at least 1000... damn sad.. brought the 233 to a shop in town for repair.. the guy at the shop told me my 233 will be ready in 1 week but in the end, they keep postponing my collection date and after 3 weeks I got fed up and asked them to return my watch. Upon inspection at home, I saw that my movement plate got a small dent with some scratches. I am seriously thinking if I should change the plates if Panerai sent me ridiculous quotation for the plate..

just like to find out if you did any background check on the shop as in check with friends or anything before passing the watch to the shop for them to service.

If I remember correctly the price is around 1.5k+ for a plate on my ex JLC.
