  • Pam spare parts

went to paneristi.com and have a look realised that there weren't many spare parts and accessories (such as case back, dials, hands, movement, boxes etc) available in the secondhand market.
while comparing it to rolex, the vintage rolex market has more spare parts and accessories(boxes and unpunched papers, anchors etc) for rolex

is there any reason to this?
    just some food for thought...

    cheers

    Hi,

Firstly, its Paneristi.com rules as quoted below:

"Please only advertise accessories: straps, boxes, buckles, books, etc. All items should be suitable for Panerai watches, for instance straps of the requisite size, or boxes that are big enough.

We no longer allow the listing of parts for sale, such as dials, hands, movements, etc. "

Secondly, in the world of Panerai, originality of parts significantly affects the value. Collectors usually stay away from "Frankenwatches' i.e. a watch with parts cannibalized from other panerai or with "new" parts. It is not uncommon to see Panerai being sold with original parts being included if it has been replaced. For example, a tritium hand which has flaked off/cracked or a corroded sub hand which has been replaced would usually be included in any sale.

In anycase, ETA parts (like gold hands for example) are quite easy to source if you decide to give your PAM a different look..my only advise : Keep the original!!!

pam watches like 001 is supposed to come with tritium dial however due to some reason a luminova dial was mounted on saw such instances a few times where a non original dial was mounted on... and yet the original dial is not included then the completeness of the set is affected...
paiseh my bad as well did not see the forum rules and thank you for the clarification

then put aside paneristi.com still the availablity of second hand parts for panerai is still quite limited take the tritium dial for instance

      cheers!

Bro, PAM1B L is not a T-dial....not necessarily all 1 are T-dial, hence having an L dial doesnt mean that it is a franken...of course there's 1B T (with t-dial)..yeah, I know, sometimes its so complicated

Lets say if Richemont were to replace the Tritium hands with Luminova hands on my PAM87, will they return me the T hands? I'm not sure if they would they will send the original part back.

no they will NOT return the hands back to you, and its their discreet to have them ship back to italy or to someone elses backyard...
