The movement sticker will give details about the watch model (LUM 44 MARINA MEC) case number (OPXXXXBBXXXXXXX), series n serial number (eg. M0001/1500) and movement number (PAXXXXXX). The movement number should also match with the number imprinted on the COSC cert. Of coz if it is a very very good copy watch they will go to great lengths to provide all these information. A proper COSC cert should never be left blank on the timing and movement details.

Therefore only buy Panerai watches when they come complete with everything, including papers and the outer cardboard box.

Will Richmont still do servicing for PAM bought from overseas AD?

there's no reason why Richemont will not service your overseas PAM watch, unless it is a fake PAM watch. beware of the high service charges ($500) even for a basic OP calibre manual movement.

i forgot to mention that some basic PAM models that does not have the seconds hand indicator will not have a COSC cert.

newbies, if in doubt please seek for advice.

              Actually no need to authenticate....

Either read up more and check more thoroughly or buy from reputable sellers or buy from AD.

Pam grey prices pegged to international benchmark so don't think this will cause price to crush or dip. If prices goes down or up, it's more to do with economy and demand.

I beleive it will drive up prices with these reputable shops as their reputation will be on the line where as it may drive down the prices a private seller will be able ot charge unless he is very well known in the market.

Since Pam Collector like "rare" things.

Will those watches authenticated by/from Richemont Singapore will worth more ?
Pre Nov 2010 (like pre A)

                      Just kidding

LOL Mu husband has a distinct dislike for Richemont hence the only Richemont sold watches he owns is a 9B, the rest of the Panerai's he owns are true PAMs. I on the other hand own a few of Richemont's other brands creations.

                          Hi Bro,
You have got a good point.
However, I have got a concern.

These grey dealers got their watches in good faith from their overseas/ lcal AD, right?
Yes, in good faith as who open up and authenticate themselves?
Any grey dealers go to authenticate before they start putting up the ad?

Especially, those undated ones, we don't even know how many hands changed before landing one, which might be just got swee swee polished.

I am in the distribution business and my trade tells me that the more hands changed, the greater the uncertainty.
It is the uncertainty, which has driven people to Service Centres to authenticate, right?

Honestly, is anyone very sure that even the local AD only takes fom Richmont 100%, that they do not have other alternaltive?

Aiyah, i think life, itself is a risk.
Now, buying Pam, even a bigger risk when there's no authentication service. So much $$$ involved,
Espeically, the cash deals with grey dealers... cash.. cash...
Wanna cheap and good in Singapoer... aiyah, very sad. Govt plug loopholes, now Richmont also.

If really scared and then start calculating... then may be someone needs to verify if we can from factory direct.

Factory direct; not factory outlet hor.
                          My humble beginning:
Ball - Conductor (SE), Rolex - Green Sub LV (Alpha-numeric series), Omega - PO XL & Pam - 351 (M-series)

                          Dream watch:
It is a tough choice between IWC IW500114 and IW500109.

I wonder if the local AD (who is it, Sincere, possibly) has put pressure on Richemont Italy/Richemont Singapore Service Center to stop doing these types of verifications, thus everytime someone goes to the AD and says he can buy the same piece for XXX dollars discounts from a local gray market dealer and then the AD just says arrogantly, "But how do you know what you are buying when there is no more Richemont verification service?"

I owuld personally bet that the Panerai Singapore AD set discount will dry up by 3% to 5% on new peices and will offer so much less for trade in pieces, if they even do that now?

But seriously I don't mind kopi o + durian (not "durain") puff from you. That'll be nice. Only scared this combi (kopi+durian) will make me lao-sai..

Lolz, you spot the error, any way if i bring a BNIB pam for a service and i think that will be a bit strange right? Some more in house movement is not cheap too. Correct me.

Like mentioned, if your watch had all the necessary documents included,i personally think that you don't need to bring to Richmont for vertification unless you smell a "rat" by the seller, right?
