  • Ceramic Pam 292- with or without the "PIG"

Hi, I am looking for my first panerai. Very tough to decide but I have more or less narrowed my search to the rad series for now. The GMT is quite nice to me but find it a tad too small at 42mm dia. Therefore looking to possibly get a ceramic pam 292. Would like to seek your views on whether you think it is worth paying a premium for the "J" series ie the "pig" version from the investment point of view? For the non-pig version, are there any difference between the K, L and M series? Thanks in advance for sharing your views.

Woh ,congrats in advance on your first Pam. Yes the GMT looks small..

    292k
Main feature on the watch is the black sandwich dial with “Pig” torpedo logo and only three arabic numerals in stylized script . A one time production of J series Limited to 1,000 pcs.

To your question, i think get the one without the pig as it saves you several k. Unless the pig means significant reasons or value to u.- my own opinion.

For the all the series in 292 , i think its the same. Correct me if i am wrong , all the Pam bros.

I will put it this way...

292 with pig--- For collectors bcos of its limited production and those with deeper pockets.

292 without pig--- For average Pam lover looking for a cool ceramic watch without the breaking the piggy bank.

And to answer your question, there's no diff between K,L and M models. Only the J is special with the pig dial. As for the question if its worth it or not, different people have diff perception on this pig or non-pig issue. Just go with your heart and pocket threshold.

Thanks Luke. I will consider the pig version if it is same as seventh son's one otherwise, will choose the 190 over the pig for the jlc movement and golden hands. Whether the 190 or the pig is a better investment, who knows..... The pig might well be famous and sought after one of these days.

Love your pig As a beginner lacking in vitamin M, I am not ready for the pig unless the investment return is promising. I may stretch a bit to get the 190.

That is true but Not sure if this is specific to the J series or OP as a whole. After all, it is still the first ceramic pig...

How come the "panerai" and "black seal" swopped position?? The 292 is "chiong one" is it?

If talking about whole range of OP, I notice 292J slight a bit more in term of %. e.g. 292 vs 232.

Most watch brand oso have a slight drop in price. This maybe the "softer" at work. e.g. GMT IIc and new Sub.

This is just my view only.
