          Something about Pam Chrono

          Hi Bro
Not trying to ask you change your mind, but a several people who have pam chrono , when they problems with the watch, the servicing has to be done by Richoment and the fees are $$$$. Just my opinion.

PAM 250 has an ETA Valjoux based movement. As with any ETA based movements, it can be serviced rather easily by any competent watch service person. Only in house movement at this juncture needs to go back to Richemont for servicing.

It retails at 11k plus and with discount would be around 10 k plus at ADs. 9k plus is through grey dealers.

How do I know this? I own a 250 and loving it!

              Valauble info

Thanks, but is it true 250/251 do run into trouble often? Or all watches with the same 7750 movement encounter the same problem? Nvr own any chrono before.

So if we do service outside, surely it will affect the warranty against other defects. Right?

No, ETA movements are proven workhorses. I know a few 250/251 owners and have not so far heard anything since the first batch.

You don't need to service during warranty and even if you do encounter problems during the warranty period as with any product that you buy, it'll be repaired FOC if it's a manufacturing defect /problem.

ETA work horse movements are the best. My most accurate watch currently runs a ETA movement at +-0sec/24hrs. The rest of the so called in hse movement are all !@#$%^. I know they can be regulated but after paying $$$ for a brand new watch, dun wanna send it back to be operated on.

yeah...ETA movements are easy to regulate and service by any experienced watch technicans....and spare parts are easy to source for....inhouse movements means have to go back to the brand service centre if anything happen...and the lead time is horrible...
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak

Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen

hi, sorry to ask a newbie question.
ETA movement means? does panerai zero have eta movement or in house?

A PAM Zero has a eta movement.

Any brand's chrono watch servicing would always be more expensive than the simple basic model.

It's valjoux 7750 based movement- been around since 1974. You can definitely get it serviced/repaired by any decent watch technician. The most common movement for chronos w/o in-house IMHO- need not go to Richemont...

And yes, as bro Dino said- it will be more expensive than servicing a basic ETA- it is an additional complication after all

                              :-)
