Ok!! I have spoken to 2 bros this afternoon regarding the 217 and 127 issue. I lost my cool and wanted to dash for either one with my decision leaning a little more to the 127. So I posted this question here hoping to get a negative answer on the 217 but seems like the response is quite the opposite of what I expected. Anyways..I have straighten my thoughts and decided to wait for my grail 339(if it ever comes). It's funny how a grown man get can so irrational at times bcos of a time telling device. Haizz and we people here go thru these....

I had the 217 before and wear on the right, like all my watches since young. The only issue I have is that it's too huge for daily wear, so sold it.

            217

            Hi Bro
The 217 with the 1950 casing in a 47mm is just right. You will love the teh dome shaped crystal. The 217 is sweet as well, undoubtedly. But it´s a destro and not as appealing to the masses. Thats why i choose 217.

But Panerai destros are always specials to collectors though I don't understand why destro is offered more expensive than the normal one. (another thing: winding direction for destro is different than the normal, it is counter clockwise.

someone is asking the same question in another forum...
              http://www.network54.com/Forum/35339...M127+or+PAM217---

I guess i might be the exceptional one out as I personally prefer the 127 than the 217. prefer to wind watches with my right hand and always been wearing them on my left hand.

but nevertheless, you can't go wrong with anyone of them! Go for it if it really sings to you!

                MM is an awesome piece...

a bit different from the 127...a bit more low profile...
                and tons of history...
                enjoy!

217 has a Marina Militare (MM) dial. These are very special words that meant something to Panerai DNA. There aren't many watches by Panerai comes with MM dial? Rare to an extend. Plus point - it is a destro. If budget is not a constraint, this is a must have for all Panerai aristocrats.
                  I own a Rolex !
