  • Deciphering COSC readings

    Hi all,

Can anyone here decipher the readings of COSC measurements? I have compared the COSC readings of some PAMs but do not know how to understand the accuracy level of each reading. And I believe there is a date stamped on the date the movement is tested. Does it tell (exactly) the age of the watch?

    Tx.

Anyone like to try? For example, "watch rests on its back with dial facing up = +4 and -6". This means to what extent the accuracy is? Good? Average? Poor? Then what about if the reading is "-1 and +2".

No problem at all. I had some time and was browsing thru some old threads.

Interesting to note the popular movements used and how some movements are equipped with additional jewelling, better quality parts (mainsprings, hairsprings, balance wheels, regulators etc) to improve the movement accuracy.
