Beautiful John, I miss those kinds of views of good quality trees from where I grew up in the States. My wife (who also posts here) has done her best to do something similar in our backyard.

Sorry John no Pams in the shots but how about a couple of Corona's?

True, the wife really has good taste and as you can see, she is not limited to her good taste in choosing a husband only. We bought the place about 10 years ago, did a major renovation and moved in about 8 and 1/2 years ago, problem is, I now work from home and we are only 3kms from the Jakarta city center so we are putting it on the market and will build a new place on about 1500 sqm farther south of Jakarta, where cleaner air and cleaner water is and where we can really have a serious backyard and back porch for those Corona afternoons.

Err... those are not Mempat trees (Cratoxylum formosum). They are known as Trumpet Trees (Tabebuia rosea) . Introduced into Singapore during the 70s together with Rain Tree and yellow flame.

I guess John's parents are staying around Toh Yi or ENG KONG or Jln ASAS area. One of the photo shows Albizia trees and the satellite recieving station at the hills near Bukit Batok Nature Park or Bukit Timah Nature Reserve .
