  • Replacing the Crystal. How much?

My 005 suffered a hard knock and now there is 2 chip off at the side of the crystal. Can anybody advise me roughly how much it would cost for the crystal to be replaced at Richmont?

    Many thanks in advance.

If not wrong is around 700 to 800+ for the crystal only. Not sure do you need to pay for service or not.

Yes. Need to pay for servicing on top of cost of glass....unless the watch is still under warranty.

Oh! Didn't know replacing the crystal is so expensive. I will just leave it.

        Thanks for the info.

I don't think it will work out to that much. Was quoted around 300SGD for the glass last time but this is together with the service (it's not a standalone crystal replacement). You may wish to try third party also.

Once the WR test failed, you have no choice but to replace the crystal. Happened to my Omega SMP too (it has chipped crystal).

Just had a recent very unfortunate accident (dropped onto tile) with a (very new) PAM 312 which resulted in a severely cracked sapphire crystal and got a quote for crystal replacement which cost approx. $900 and service cost to the movement and crown which costs $500. I think the earlier post for the cost the crystal is consistent with what was given to me.

Just a question though, should I be paying the service cost to the movement since the watch is still pretty much under warranty?

Unfortunately, warranty does not cover careless acts like this. So, I think you will have to pay.

Thanks. Thats what I thought. Well just have to bite the bullet and get it fixed. Another issue though is that it takes at least 16 weeks to service. Is this true? They say its because of the leadtime of parts ordering from the swiss manufacturer.

If they need certain parts, it takes so long. I once had a watch with Richemont for over 4 months!

$500 to service 312 (in-house movement) is quite ok. They quoted me $1k to service 233 (also in-house)

Thanks KuchingKu! This makes me feel a bit more comfortable. Never had a watch been in service this long.

Hi guys, just to check, when will the watch be due to servicing? say for e.g. 312 or 233. I believe all these costs have to be considered before getting it.

                        Thanks alot.
