You are most welcome. Yes, Panerai was quite generous, they gave away a windbreaker for those that turned up.

Will you be going to the exhibition? There was a watchmaker on hand demonstrating the basic assembly of the dial of the new movement. I do hope he will be there the next 2 days so everyone can see and examine the new P9000 movement up close.

There will be more pics on Horomundi as the current Pam Mod is a local so check it out in the next few days for his post.

                I doubt so

Even with Swatch winding down the supply of ETA movements, my gut feel is that Panerai won't have every watch in the future fitted with in-house calibres. Who knows, they (and others) may well turn to China for their supply of movements and none will be the wiser! The Chinese have caught up in terms of mass produced and machined decorated movements.

Initial servicing may cost slightly more but these new movements are not exactly so complicated that they have to be sent back to Richemont for proprietary servicing. Getting parts will be the future issue.

                      Thanks for sharing.

Went to see. The 60mm is really HUGH. Got to wear on neck.

From what I know ETA will still supply fully assembled ebauche/movements to watch houses. As from in parts currently. This will drive up costs for those co.

Not sure if they will supply parts for services thought. Maybe some other who are into the industry can enlighten us.

                      Saw disassembled 233 and 312.

312 using 2 barrels and the winding mechanism is similar to Seiko magic level.
As used in 7S26, 7S36. Wonder if some relation.

The escapement (312) looks rather tiny. The balance use a screw type balance, a surprise.

Great photos! As for the question whether they are going to discontinue current models, I really don't think so.
