panerai naming convention

Panerai goes by alphabet series starting from A and has reached the letter "R", there are only 8 alphabets to go. in the next couple of years or so, it is likely to reach the last letter (Z) in the alphabet series.

will panerai like rolex go the alphanumeric way? or will they adopt a different naming convention or will they improvise the current system by going back to the start of alphabet but start with AA?

what are your views and thoughts.

mmm..... not sure if OP produces as many watches as ROLEX. If they do, they may adopt the system of naming convention like ROLEX. But, if they do not produce such huge amounts of watches, they are likely to make their naming convention simple.

That's a very good question. It's really anyone's guess. They do however have couple of times recycle model numbers.

For instance Pam 001 has now been used twice the second time for the Florance Boutique Marina model. These are models during Richemont time. If taking into considerations during Richemont and Vendome period, couple of model numbers have been reused as well.

Not surprise if they going to start the letters over again cause by then the model numbers will be different anyway. That's why the model numbers have 5 digits, exp: Pam 00390. For example 5 years down the road a Panerai model Pam 00999A could be possible? Means even there's an A that doesn't mean its from 1998 as the model number itself is Pam 999 if you get what I mean.

A few years now...we will soon find out.
