Sub 24 or 305

Looking at getting my first Pam Sub and looking at Pam24 vs Pam305.

Would like to hear your feedback and experience before making the plunge.

24 - cheaper to maintain cos using valjoux 7750 so can go to any watchmaker to service.
305 - in-house p9k . Better to send to pamnfor service . Costs about $700 for servicing.

Best to try out both cos 305 is bigger at 47mm while 24 is 44mm.

I've personally got a pam 24 and I feel that it does wear much smaller on the wrist than the pam 305.

However, the Pam 24 is the most 'traditional' modern pam sub without the bells and whistles.

I'm a big fan of pam subs and my advice would be to actually go for pam 24.


If second hand isn't an issue, go for the pam 64 or pam 87.

How big is your wrist? How heavy are you?
The 305 and 24 differs not only in case size (47mm vs 44mm).
The 305 casing is 1950 type and when housing the P9000 auto, is a real fat boy.
The 24 has a much flatter case back, does not wear as tall and thick as the 305.
To me the 24 wears so much more comfortable all day long.
I have 7-inch wrists and very thick sinewy arms, and still feel that the 47mm is just too big for me. So far most 47mm is too 'hanged' for most of the wrists I have seen them on.
So try them out and decide.

+1 on sticking to 44mm so will suggest PAM 24. 47mm is WAY too big for Asian hands. Seen few people in Singapore wearing Hublot big bang or PAM 47mm watches, and it looks really silly

If foing for the 24, i'd suggest looking for an early series, especially the A or B series. Not only do they come with T-dials (which ahould be micely patina-ed) now but are the only ones with polished bezels and no 15-min markers. Rather sought after.

Thanks to all valuable input, tried both and went for the 305.

Like the way it sits on wrist and also the markers (stealth like for a sub) instead of 12 and 6 numerals.
