  • Panerai Time Accuracy and its accuracy test

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone here keep track of time accuracy by your pam?

Usually I do not really bother on this. Whenever I wear my pam, i would reconcile the timing with my watch. If its off 1-2 minute, I m ok. For past few months my Pam 510 is working perfectly.

However last few cycle of the PR, I noticed that merely after 4-5 days, my pam is losing 1-2 mins. The last incident was on day 8 of the PR, it lost total of 5 mins. I am quite shocked by this as I did not encounter this before with my pam. As I do not want to over-react or be panaroid about this so I decided monitor few more cycle first before bringing it down to service center for servicing.

I understand that the certificate booklet comes with the test result with various resting position. I also read online other forums that even Panerai staff informed that the time accuracy is -/+ 10 seconds per day. Any thought on this?

I would appreciate any valuable thoughts n comments you may have for the time accuracy.

    Thanks for reading!

I had the same problem but mine is faster instead of slower.
Anyway,I had brought it to the boutique but nothing much has changed.
I kind of feel that the P5000 is not stable.the certification/test on it as indicated in the booklet is crap.
I have learnt to live with it.Gave up actually hahaha

You bought it back to boutique, did you get it serviced?
My 510 went for servicing already. Reason they give is either due to lack of lubrication or external shock. I believe it could be due to external shock as i wore it for intensive swimming recently.

Should be faster not slower. BTW, swimming shouldn't be a shock to the watch especially considering Panerai started by making watches for divers

It was sent for checking but no servicing was required. They mentioned lubricant was good and no sign of any faults. So its like bring in see see look look then discharge Haha
510 is a new model. How can the lub be dried?
Swimming? Those fellows used it to sink a warship! !what can swimming do? ?

Mine gain few seconds everyday. I fell it depends on how you rest your watch over night and it gains less second if I rest it face-up over night. Not really keep track of it ....,

Just curious. How do you guys check the accuracy of your watch? Compare the time with the timing on the Internet? Like world clock?
