I think you need to do your due diligence when selling your item online. I have no qualms about selling online, as long as the purchaser is happy to sort out the shipping and insurance fees.
While I wouldn't consider selling my pam, I actually bought mine online from the US. Had the watch FedEx'd to me; sale completed over Paypal.
I have a brand New lucky draw 27 July 2015 Daytona 116520 White fro a dealer for S$12,800. I have check with the AD and they are selling $15,500 + GSt. I wanted to sell online for $13,800. What do brothers and sisters think? Should I let it go to the dealer?
Depends on who gives the highest offer. Internet sales not necessarily the best deal, especially for "commodity" pieces. I sold a PAM to a shop at a few hundred higher than the offers online. And a friend sold his Rolex also at higher prices than offered here.
If you're holding on to a not so mainstream piece, it's generally better to sell on forum but have to wait out for the right buyer who appreciates the watch.
I would rather sell it at any classified ad. Prefer COD.
Second hand shops offer very low price. Second hand shop will be my last option. I still prefer internet classified sales. The reason you are offered low price on internet sales is because the buyers are not serious buyer. IMHO
Selling online brings its own set of issues. Lowballers, time wasters, and a whole host of head bursting crap but when u find your buyer after much hassle, you probably would feel its worth it. Selling to shops and you easily lose 1-2k or perhaps more than selling online. But definitely a lot quicker. Pros and cons.
