I thought the range a bit disappointing for me.

The only one I like is the 614 Sub flyback.

The rest just look soooo busy.

                          Thanks for all the replies.

My take on this year SIHH is that, Panerai are producing some "ground breaking" releases...Those kind that some other manufacturers have already did and got over with. Like AP with the carbon and some other independent watch makers with case engraving.

Still, I am quite fond of the 616 which I think will look good IRL. I agree that it might be too casual in formal setting, so are most large cases Panerais. Guess with a nice leather strap, the appearance could change. And with the different bonding outcome, each case is unique on its own, like a fingerprint or signature. This is the kind of piece which either you hate it or love it type. I am the latter.

Its nice that this SIHH they are giving some attention to the Sub line and all being in the 47mm range, there's always something to look forward to as some Sub lovers are hoping for the 44mm subs to make a come back. It will come...soon.

What Ristis all over the globe realised was, there could be a pattern in the way Panerai is churning out their models.
Jan SIHH: Release of more mainstream models as defined by global / general consumer demand.
Sep-Nov (Boutique/Watches And Wonders) : Release of Paneristi-centric models, albeit all SE/LE or Boutique (Firenze/HK) specific.

Cleverly Panerai "differentiate" these periods to maybe, just maybe, better manage the expectation of hardcore Ristis/fans and also the mainstream market since SIHH is like the International mainstream Exibition while Watches and Wonders are specifically just for Brands under Richemont.

                          IMO.

I have a different opinion. Whilst I agree the 616 looks kiddish I believe it also renders the watch a lot lesser flexibility. What I mean is you can't pair this case wit say a metal bracelet.
I also think it is less versatile with a lot of straps being not a good match.
Overall I don't like the 616 bec I feel it took away from of Pam's unique dressing characteristics.

Every new models has its own uniqueness though you may furnish your own feedback. Likewise, all opinions mentioned will also be loved by the owner of the watch as he will get the most attention once his wear on his wrist.

That's the beauty of this watch,IHMO

Last but not least, we will have to save up to get all this new models as they are getting pretty high cost unless you can get it in the resales market with a better discount.
