Why PAM312 so Popular?

Newbie here.....

Just curious why so many people recommend the PAM312 for people that are new to Panerai?

Why not recommend PAM351 or PAM359 which is quite Similar?
Correct me if I am wrong.

I have check around and most AD does not have stock for PAM312.

Which will you recommend? 312,351 or 359?

bought a 312 for my 1st PAM... considering a 372 the next... love the vintage look/feel... and yes, agree with satch bro - sometimes, less is more.

The 351 is titanium and tobacco dial , two of which not really fancied the mass , maybe cause of the lighter weigh and the so called tougher to match straps with the brown dial...though I love the golden hands...

The 359 if the most intriguing in terms of dial compared to the other two and somehow deems complicated and not "Panerai" looking though interestingly the dial layout is not uncommon in the Panerai universe...

My take is , the 312 is the safest and most "prominently acceptable" model IN regards to the in house movement models and material used , stainless steel.

For me? 351 , 359 , 312 in that order... Or if the new guy don't mind manual , the Zero of course. So much heritage and history.
