  • I narrowed my hunt for second Panerai

Good days and hi everyone. I figured this would be the best place to ask, since it involves two different watches from one same brand. I love my 312 and crazy for one more, another word looking for second Pam. I narrowed my hunt for second Panerai, This what in my pathetic mind. I started love panerai cuz of the in house movement, not looking for similar looks as 312, example, 233, 270, 510, 320, oops lost my count.... This what I like everyone to share from your point of view, regardless, values, sentimental, collectible, anything open for me.... This is what I narrowed down.....

    LUMINOR SUBMERSIBLE 1950 3 DAYS AUTOMATIC TITANIO 47mm PAM305
    RADIOMIR COMPOSITE® BLACK SEAL 3 DAYS AUTOMATIC 45mm PAM505

Bro ... tough decision indeed !

Since you already own a PAM312, go for something very different one .... PAM 505. But this 505 actually without the most important DNA of Panerai, crown protecting device.

Since you already have the 312, I think 505. One look and nobody would think it's the same as your 312.
Only concern I have with the 505 is whether there's any issue with the composite. Better read up somemore and see if there are issues with the material...
For the 305, it is usually compared against the 243, and I actually prefer the 243, esp those with the tritium dial...
      Have fun!

        +1...

        I am with Ender...

The 505 is a nice piece but please researched more on the composite material...

So I will go with the 305 as its a Sub and I am not a fan of Radiomir anyway...the case might look the same as your 312 but the bezel on the sub does differentiate the overall look...and it's titanium...gives your collection something different...

But like Ender, I settled for the 243 with T dial after trying both...

Get one that you like the most regardless whatever the crowd favorite is...

        Cheers.

          Oh...and it's BIG!

          47mm against your 312 at 44mm...

          definitely 305...

          Cheers.

There is actually some issues with the Caseback...as the owners wore the watches , maybe due to the sweat and the salt content of the wearer , there is come discoloration and worse the coating flaking off...

This could be an isolated incident and very very few owners came up to share their experience...so it's not really known to what extent does the damages goes...

                      Hope this helps...

                      Cheers.

                        Hi there,

312 was my first Pam years ago. Bitten by the Pam bug,I proceeded to buy the sub 305 and base rad 210.

The 312 is still my fav. The feel for the 210 is growing stronger but lost my love for the 305 and traded it for base pam55. Sold off the pam55 at huge lost and now I m happy with 312 and 210 and lots of straps! Currently has no urge to buy another Pam but can't say for the future.

                          305. Personally Quite skeptical about black pam, be it composite or ceramica. Any hairline or scratch on case/ bezel is very obvious...

Yup...same composite material use on the 504 and 505...

Dont know if Panerai have resolved the issue with the composite material when they created the 504 and 505...
