I like the 562 and 564 too but not sure with the 8 days writing...

    Cheers.
It more like a mix between the 116/176 and 118/177.
Tobacco plus Sandwich dial...pack with a much bigger power reserve engine...

Hi Ryuden, i had came across write-ups in other forums, where these text "8 Days" are frowned upon, by the european collectors... is there any story behind this? is it true the serious collectors do not like "english" text on their dial?

            for anyone's sharing...

The story behind the '8 days' goes all the way back to the roots and history of the watch made for the Italian navy whereby the power reserve of the time telling machines were 8 days. This is so that the diver do not have to keep winding the crown every two or three days...

There was this very special edition Pam 203 which uses the vintage Angulus 8 days movt and only 150 pcs were made. Very selected few chosen by Panerai get to own this piece. Unique thing about this piece is not only the vintage Angulus movt that was use , the inscription 8 Giorni Brevettato (8 days certified) itself seperate it from the rest...

This is particularly referring to the new Pam 590 as its like the 'reconcept' 're-newed' version of that Pam 203. Thus those owners/collectors of this Pam 203 felt betrayed.

Generally , most of the newer 8 Days 2014 models aren't much loved by most , not because its written in English , maybe due to the fact it does not need to be there in the first place. Somehow like over killin the dial with unnecessary inscriptions where to most , Panerai concept is...lesser is better. Simplicity at its best.

              Cheers.

Just to add to the excellent write up by my brotha Ryuden, the 8 Giorni "bullseye" can also currently be found in PAM 339 and PAM 341.

I really do not like the look of the movement in the see-through casebacks of the 8 day base models and 510.
                      Pretty pedestrian-looking imo.

I think it's supposed to look that way... not a much decorated movt but a workhorse with 8 days power reserved.

I find that there is too much of the base-plate blocking the rest of the working components, thus making it look a bit plain i guess.

But i have to admit that at the price point of mid-9k without discount, the 510 is an attractive buy nonetheless.

Agreed... but I fancy the 564 over the 510... well that's me...
