Have a sharkie myself, it is a little thin for my preference. I think a nice calf leather strap is best. My fav are either from Distefano or Gunny. Both are excellent strap makers.

calf .. I like it but strap are your own personal taste.. so grab what you want not what you think its nice on other people.

i say vintage calf looks best or it's original rubber strap..

Thanks for the advice on strap, ordered my strap already, meanwhile using my 183 strap first while waiting for strap to arrive.
