  • advice from pam 305 owner

    Dear all,
Just like to check with Pam 305 owners,is it prone to scratch due to titanium case?
Thinking of getting this watch but heard from a bro that titanium is softer than steel and will scratch easily, especially 47mm.

        Theoretically yes.
But it also depends on how careful you wear them.
My 305 show as little scratches as my 111 SS, so scratches is perfectly fine with me.
And personally I do not like the idea of polishing the watch.
Cos I really think scratches show character and means that you have been enjoying it!
No worries bro, just wear and enjoy it!

        Cheers!

Think you should not base on your decision on whether to buy a watch base on whether it scratch easily or not....
All Watches will suffer from wear and tear if you wear it... it will not scratch if it is going to be a safe queen..

Hence to me it does not matter what the material is, IMHO... enjoy the watch... If you try it on and the watch face smiles back at you then buy it.....

Cheers and remeber to post your wrist shot here....

I believe that brushed titanium withstands scratches better than polished SS.

On a polished SS Pam, any minor scratch is easily identifiable due to its high gloss surface. But the upside is that minor scratches can be buffed out with a cape cod cloth.

On brushed titanium, it is tougher to get scratches but once you got them, the only way is to use a titanium fiberglass scratch removal pen. Other than that, if the scratches are too deep, you have to get the Pam professionally buffed.

I use my Pam 351 & 389 (both titanium) as my dailies and they have stood the "test of time", ie: about 6-8mths.
