Recommendation for a budget of...

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting a watch for a friend. Budget not more than 3k, preferably at 2k. Auto/quartz is fine and dress/sport is great as well but I'm more incline towards dress watch.

Any recommendation on brands and model?

Hahaha jokes aside, there are a few brands you might want to look at.
Try Frederique Constant (both female and male collection there are pretty good and value for money), or ask Rolex116613 said, you can try a Seiko. There are really good models out there which are within your budget range, and yet it still looks presentable as a gift.

For that budget, you can actually get a Swiss watch of decent pedigree and one often neglected brand is Tissot. They do have a wide range of watches and you can get an auto watch with open case back for a little more than 1k or even less. Another would be Longines but range is rather limited.

My advise is don't go the quartz way unless it's Super high end Swiss quartz. I believe your friend will appreciate mechanical/auto more.

As it's for a business associate whom got along well with me, the gift (brand) can't be too shabby... Sadly it has to be mainstream

ur business associate local or overseas? cuz different places got different mainstream brands.. more of the advertising done by the respective brand holders in the various countries..

how abt Ball? I personally think it's a gd entry level automatic watch which is abt ur price range.. but if u r looking more "well-known" then maybe Tag will be a better choice...
