  • Where to service Omega watch

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a reputable shop where i can send my Omega watch for servicing? I have a seamaster which i reckon is about 50 yrs old which is not keeping good time. It has gone slower by about 5 mins over a 24hr period.
What are the usual charges like?
Your advice and recommendation is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks..

Bro, with a vintage like that i rather send it back to Omega Service Centre at Wheellock Place for a proper job. I know it's ex, but you know it will be in good hands. My 2 cents...

Thanks for the advice bro. Any idea what kind of price range are we talking about for re-calibration of watch accuracy in JW?

      Thanks.

Try Top Hr @ Lucky Plaza. He did an immaculate job on my ETA Speedie..
Pricing is reasonable, the challenge is getting back the parts as they are likely to be worn out...

He did a 40 year old constellation and a 38 year old 6694 for me as well
        Itchy for:
        Pam 351

        First Team Players:
        Zenith Chronomaster power reserve
        Bvlgari Octo
        IWC 3777-01
        Rollie 116610LN

        SuperSubs:
        Omega Speedmaster Olympic Edition
        Blumo

        Once was Itching for them:
        Tag Heuer Aquaracer
        Pam 111
        Omega Aqua Terra Chronograph

How accurate you except after service by JW or Top Hour?

          Is it a heirloom pieces?

If heirloom please,I will sent back to Omega factory.
Min is $1,200 & above,& have to wait about 15 week to get it done.

If watch is bought by you, than sent to JW.

If no part change,JW should be below $350.

Many thanks to all the bros for your valuable recommendations and advice. I guess I will check with the different shops to get quotations first before deciding. Thanks again..

I would go to Top Hour for Mr Lim's expert advise first. If he can get the parts, he can do it. Next choice is JW but may have a long wait. Omega Service Centre would be next choice with long wait at queue, service and a large long bill after work done.

I am also curious whether top hour accepts all models and whether they specialize in any models.

If it's a vintage piece, best to send back to omega for servicing and repair as independent watch makers may not have the original or correct parts for replacement. If you want your watch to be restored to it's former glory and everyday wear, it is also best to send it back to Omega.

Cost wise it really depends on what is needed to be done. I recently sent my omega from the 70s back for full over-hual of movement and was charged $100 for the courier fee back to Bienne, S$780 for the over-hual of the movement etc and was further charged S$890 for a complete case replacement with a new one. So total bill came up to S$1,770; although they did give me a discount out of goodwill. For that i get a "brand new" vintage piece that will continue to serve me for many years to come and a 2 year Omega warranty.

Worth it or not? To me it is, since this particular piece holds some sentimental value for me.
