I'm surprised that there is a case replacement for your watch from the 70s. Could you indicate what is the model that you sent for servicing?

Cost wise it really depends on what is needed to be done. I recently sent my omega from the 70s back for full over-hual of movement and was charged $100 for the courier fee back to Bienne, S$780 for the over-hual of the movement etc and was further charged S$890 for a complete case replacement with a new one. So total bill came up to S$1,770; although they did give me a discount out of goodwill. For that i get a "brand new" vintage piece that will continue to serve me for many years to come and a 2 year Omega warranty.

Worth it or not? To me it is, since this particular piece holds some sentimental value for me.
