Hi all bros n sis,

May I know for preowned Omega Speedmaster Professional aka the Moonwatch (cal 1861 or 861), how do I verify its the real Moonwatch?

Anyway to check or verify? experienced Omegaians, please assist...I m thinking of buying a preowned Omega Speedmaster Professional aka the Moonwatch for $3.7k, is it worth this price?

Any moonwatchers here please assist n thanks much! :-)

How can anyone advise with the lack of information on the watch? The more concrete verification of authenticity will be to send it to its agent at the Swatch Group, Wheelock Place (4th level). For that kind of pricing, I guess it should be a relatively new watch that should still be under warranty, and should come with the newer 1861 calibre? Other information include :

- watch condition?
- original box & warranty card/paper?
- full set?

Whether eventually it's worth $3.7K will still depend on how you look at it. A brand new piece from local AD retails at $5.9K. With controlled discount (may be max at 15%), you will still have to pay more than $5K for it. So you be your own judge.

By the way, do you know how much Swatch Group, Wheelock Place (4th level) charge for the verification of authenticity? How do you know if its newer 1861 calibre or 861 from the external appearance?

I'm not too sure about the verification fee. You may want to call 62756388 to find out? Or the address to approach is No. 501 Orchard Road #04-05, Wheelock Place. I think they are opened over the weekdays on office hours only. The watch technicians should be able to tell you the watch movement. Or the warranty card/paper that comes with it will have the information? Not sure.
