Want to buy a Omega watch

IMHO current Omega watches don't hold their value. If you're willing to tread the vintage Omega route, you'll find that many of the old pre-Swatch Omegas hold value very well. Some values have even blossomed, e.g. the vintage Ploprof's price-hike following Antiquorum's Omegamania auction (in 2007, I think?); or the cost of an Omega "big blue" chronograph, which methinks is like 8-10k sgd, maybe?

Aesthetically, I think the fact that existing Omega models are taking on many design cues from their historic counterparts is a good indicator of where the intrinsic value of Omega watches lies - which would then impact the desirability/resale of current models.

Just my 2c.

That is true... not just for omegas , but for alot of other watch brands as well. these days, I find 'special edition' are oversold and losing a lot of appeal.

Is this a trick qns? "...where I can still an omega...". Do you mean "steal"?! Or are you trying to buy one? Isn't this watch available in most ADs/boutiques?

45.5 Omega Planet Ocean is a current model which you can get at any AD.....Do some legwork around town area if you have the time...

Nah.. cos I checked with THG and they havent got this in their inventory. Will look around at the other ADs.

There are so many ADs in orchard area...if 1 branch do not have any in the shop just have to go to the next 1 that is 5mins away....happy hunting....

Omega PO

If i am not wrong, all Omega ADs are currently only offering 12% disc off the list price. The Omega boutique itself only offers 5% disc. Got my PO couple months back with only a meagre 12% disc off the list price.

Having said that, the PO is a great watch. Runs dead accurate...gains or loses approx 10 to 15 secs in a month. The dual AR coating on the dome sapphire crystal works great allowing for superb readability in all lighting conditions. And it grows with the wearer. Truly a modern classic IMHO.

This is correct so if want to get any Omega watches cheaper than what you could get via Singapore AD, it would be KL.

The last I checked, the PO Chronograph is overall some 5% to 7% cheaper than Singapore after RM conversion to SGD. And also there is no GST to pay over there ....

But of course if want to support Singapore retail business, then it is different story liao .....
