  • Is it worth repairing Omega SM 3523300?

    Hi folks,

My Omega crashed to the ground recently and the saphhire crystal was badly damaged.

Was quoted an estimated $1060 for servicing.

    What's your advice?

The normal servicing shld be $850. I think they added the cost of sapphire crystal, thats why it is $1060. However, the price might be lower in the end, depending on what has to be change.

      Thanks for the reply.
That's the quote they provided me.
$850 for overhaul of the watch and the rest for the crystal.
It could be more as depending on what parts need to be serviced...

What's your opinion - to service or not?

How did you get the watch for? And more importantly, whats the watch worth to you? For example, my BA GMT is given to me as a birthday gift from my wife. In the future, I will be service/repair it regardless of cost.

Is that the sea or speedmaster? Anyway, since it appears to have a major bump for the crystal to crack, whether or not to repair will depend on its sentimental value and if you intend to leave it for your children etc.. It will be difficult to sell next time and so, if you are doing it just to sell it, may not be worthwhile.

Thanks guys for replying to the post.
This watch had served me faithfully for the past 5 years.
It was an accident that caused it to die prematurely.

Had bought it with MOF permission...
Had fond memories and sentimental value to me.

Anyway, i had sent it in for servicing and it'll probably take 3 months at least.

Once again, thank you much for the invaluable inputs!

              my take,,,,,,,,,,,,

if not expecting to change to a BETTER watch, then repair,,,,

if it is time to upgrade "wrist view", put the omega put aside, no see it, get a new replacement or sell it cheaply.

since not much sentimental value, except accompany you for the last five years,,,,,,,,, change la

Bro Feilong108, do you have the contact of the other 2 service centres?

Think I should send it to them for an alternative quote?

u can try to go to watchklink or JW watch for quotations...i am sure it be much lower than the $850 bucks quoted by Omega service centre....and JW and watchklink provide warr after the servicing if i remember correctly....12 months warr...

Imagine this...your watch if in good condition can fetch 2.3k...servicing cost $850....with parts changed still chargable...and add in the GST...the servicing and parts change will cost almost more than half ur watch value liao....hahahahaha

They called me after 2 months to collect my watch and comes with 2 year warranty. Also, they added in a red color watch box similar to those use to keep Oakley sunglasses.
