Seiko 5 stands for 5 qualities of the watch, but still to me, i always associate it with entry level / low end auto movements from Seiko, not that i own any high end Seiko watches (YET)Comment

Actually the newer 5s mostly have the 4R series movement which is handwind and hacking so very worthwhile to get in my honest opinion. Going with a newer 5 as a beater for everyday use is a good choice as they are cheap, tough and reliable.Originally posted by hello1234 View PostComment

Actually don't know why so many feel the seiko 5 badge cheapens the watch? It's just another brand logo? Most people wouldn't know what it represents and that it's Seiko's entry level mechanical range anyway.Comment
