You really need to bite the bullet in order to invest in a GS and then appreciate the quality of Seiko.

Not an expert in movement but comparing a Rolex Date and GS SBGR023. GS has a better quality and finishing.

many ppl bought Rolex more for its status symbol than its quality ...
this reminds me of iphone of the past where albeit its specs not too good as compared to its competitors, many ppl 'camped' overnight just to be the first among their peers to buy anything associated with 'apple'. Then Samsung came to the scene and changed all that within a short span of time ..
perhaps this is something senior management at seiko should ponder over in their quest to capture a bigger pie of the luxurious segment of the watch industry.
