imho,
get a black or orange monster...
its not worth to get blue or red now. the price is.... crazy.
blue monster is more of a 'limited production' then a limited edition.
only yellow and red is the limited edition. (yellow only have like 300? both red and yellow have limited edition on dial)
all red/blue/yellow uses 7s36 movement which suppose to have a better power reserve then the 7s26 in black/orange monster, but seems like they are both the same.

i would say limited edition in the design for the yellow and red.
if you take a look, other then the dial 'limited edition' only red and yellow are given the cyclops.
and if i'm not wrong blue monster can still be found in compared to yellow and red. well yellow being the most rare of cause.
and yes... i would say limited edition is more valuable...
the last time my friend let go off his blue monster was like $450? (this year)
and you have ppl trying to sell it off at $800 now...
this limited edition and limited production thing is all made up by people... market demands
you know what i'm saying?

Thanks for the detail explanation ... So limited edition will be better than limited production ...
YES you are right, BLUE monster can be found occassionally in the market thou prices are pretty high now maybe becos the production has ceased. As for YELLOW and RED hardly come by and I believe these will be more valuable and rarer than BLUE monster.
Thank you so much ...
