  • Omega vs Tag Heuer vs Ball

Hi all.. I'm considering a second watch with a budget of <$3k so now it boils down to 3 nice brands - Omega, Tag Heuer and Ball. Any advice or opinion which would make a nice diver watch?

Omega around $3k? If direct brand new from boutique or AD, let me know! BTW, all three cannot compare lah. I dun own omega but tag and ball are good!

Given my budget or lack of it, I am open to used versions as well

At that budget, try looking at getting a used omega speedmaster pro. Great watch that beats any tag or ball.

Sori dude, no offense here, what you mean by beat any tag or ball? All same manufacturer for movement for most of their watches so where the big difference?!!! Tag have gone to microsecond level for chronograph, what is omega doing? Toying with liquid metal... You really think speedmaster can beat any tag or ballwatch? Dun talk big unless you can back up!

With 3k max there alot of brand new watch you can buy for tag and ball. No point buying 2nd unless you are going to flip the watch in few years time.

Among your three options, Ill take a 2nd hand Planet Ocean (cal. 2500) at that price range.

Alternatives worth considering that arent the 3 brands u listed would be a brand new Longines Legend Diver/ Seiko Marinemaster 300.

PO 2500 is a good suggestion!

Go search other forums like WTF, WUS, TZ and have a feel of what others feel and ask around ppl you see face to face to help you decide. Lastly test out the watches to feel for yrself. Cheers.

Suggest to go for a new one. Start with a nice quartz TAG, take time to appreciate watch designs and functions and then the engineering beauty of mechanical watches and slowly work your way up. It is not about money but the experience ; )
