What couple watch will you get for a budget of $8, 000?

My friends approach me with this question, I proposed Tag Heuer. However, they prefer Cartier instead. The reason they gave was that Tag do not retain their value well. I was quite amused with that response because Tag being a watch company was just brushed aside but Cartier being a jewellery maker retains its value well? Of cos I did not argue as this is their choice and I wasn't that familiar with Cartier watches. So guys, what couple watch do you think its worth getting with the budget of $8, 000? Must be brand new so rolex is a bit tough. .

Why would your friend even consider the resale value? If it's a couple watch its supposed to stay with the couple, right?

8k? The obious choices are of course TAG and Longines. Can also consider Ball, Baume & Mercier, and all the other entry level brands.

its not really fair to compare cartier and tag heuer because they belong to different tiers
tag heuer should compare against its class like oris, longines, baume et mercier, whereas cartier should compare against the likes of omega, breitling, iwc

back to the question of $8k for 2watches, ie $4k each, i suppose omega constellation is a good choice

I'm curious why Cartier can't get a pair for 8K? Did TS specify any Cartier model? Are all Cartier models expensive??

Confirm brand new so Cartier also not that exp mah..
How much does their tank watch cost?

the cartier tank solo cost only around 3k plus for ladies and mens as well as the cartier ronde is also almost the same price. so within 8k is definitely possible.

Hmm maybe its time I walk in to cartier to check the prices out of curiosity.
They got the ronde if im not mistaken. But if tank is ard same price, I would have gotten tank over the ronde.
