            Think You can try the Archimede Pilot XL series , I owned one with 45mm, very good quality watch and hard to come by on teh second hand market.

              Archimede has an advantage in that they manufacture their own cases, but most of the movements are not decorated. I would consider their autos not the manual 6497.

                    Gnomon does not carry archemede anymore.
                    I don't have enuf watches but I will stop buying now!

                        German timekeeper stocks them. They are based in sg I think.

                            what about uboats and bell and rosses? I get quite hooked up on them lately... I previously had never though I will consider anyone of these brands.

                              you may consider tutima, wempe & sinn too. own a stowa flieger myself and lets just say its well worth the wait.
                              never did quite like the steinhart, quality your getting for the price might be fantastic but.. like what a bro said earlier, the brand identity just doesn't seem right imho.
