  • Tag Heuer Automatic or Quartz

Guys I m scratching my head, if you have a budget of $2500 to buy a tag heuer, would u buy a quartz or an automatic movement?

Personal preference I'd say. If it is me, I will buy an automatic movement watch.

            pros n cons

I have two Tag quartzs and three tag automatics. Quartz are very accurate, reliable and rugged. Autos avearge a few secs off a day, can add up to a lot if u are unlucky.
Quartz are cheap to maintain, battery change at a gd watchmaker is about $15/ every 2 or 3 yrs. Auto servicing is becoming very expensive running into a few hundred for Tags.
Resale autos win all the time, always in demand, quartz slow to resell and lose more.
In summary if u want accurancy, ruggedness and cheap maintainence, buy quartz. If u intend to flip, always go for autos!

For daily wear and convenience, a quartz will be handy!

3-5 years of normal usage? Although certain brands might have different guidelines, e.g. Omega is claiming the service interval for their co-axial movements is 7-10 years.....
