Need Help: Watch for dad below $2k

Hi everyone, I'm asking you for a big favour. My dad's birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of getting him a watch. My budget is below $2000. So far the only brand I could think of is Longines so I'd really appreciate it if you could give me suggestions on other brands or places where I can a good deal.

There are numerous watches you can consider such as Azimuth, Ball, Certina, Damasko, Eterna, Fortis, Glycine, Hamilton, Inducta, J. Spring, Klein Calvin, Luminox, Mido, Ninox, Oris, Paul Picot, QQ, Raymond Weil, Swatch, Tissot, U-Boat, Victorinox, Wenger, Xantia, YSL and Zeno-Watch Basel (by alphabetical order)...

Assuming you would only buy brand new and your dad isn't the very young and modern type...

Longines is a good choice as a recognizable brand...or Tissot. Can consider Seiko and Orient too, they have some pretty nice mechanical dress watches in strap as well as bracelet.

I've been liking Frederique Constant in this price range. It's a younger brand but it's innovative and trying to create in house movements. Plus their brand ambassador is Shu Qi... nothing like having an ex-porn star shilling your watch!

Not sure about b&m but maybe their classima executive range. Their chrono and gmt models?

Maurice lacroix is another under rated brand IMHO.
