  • Watches with in-house movements that are under 10 grand...

Let's set aside the topic of ETA vs in-house for a minute since everyone has a limit as to how much a branded watch with ETA movement should cost..that being said..i'd always prefer to have a watch with in-house movement even though the cost of servicing may be higher..but not being from the very affluent crowd..choices are thus very limited..so just wandering how many brand watches out there with in-house movement comes under $10K after discount..with my PAM312 being one of them..I know there are a few more..

    1. Some Panerai models (not sure of all the pricing but alot of the P9000 models comes below this range)

    2. Breitling Chronomat and Navitimer 01 (with their B01 movement)

    3. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean and Speedmaster (read good reviews of the 8500 and 9300 movements)

    4. Some Rolex models may fall just below this range after discount

    5. Cartier Calibre (Their 1 and only in-house movement watch so far)

    6. Few Zenith watches also available

Does anyone know of anymore watches that may be in this category? I think we can leave out the japanese watches..if not the list will be very long! Let's just keep it to the Swiss brands..feel free to contribute if you have info like price or photos!

JLC - I think there are still some simple models that cost <10k after discount...or not?

Nomos - Not popular here but it has its own movements...

GP? Chopard LUC? Not familiar with pricing of these two brands, so maybe someone else can comment...

It'll be good if more people can chip in and contribute..many might think that watches with in-house movement maybe out of their budget when actually there are some good ones that are still considered affordable..

Still a ETA/Swatch Group Movement in my world.... just good marketing and inflated price tag.

            1. Freddy Constant / Alpina

            2. Stowa with DUROWE (arguable)

            3. Grand Seiko

            4. Dornblueth (arguable for most movements, but new in-house movement costs EUR7k)

            5. Damasko DK series

Can we open the criteria to 'continental' makes?

I second Nomos. Their watches have this understated beauty that grows on you.

Damasko. About $4k or $5k there about after discount.

When the Pam p9000 series was first launched, I got my Pam 320 at $9k+ from ad.

All rolex are in-house movement and most datejusts are under $10k. You should still be able to get thenex2 at below $10k in Europe.
I don't have enuf watches but I will stop buying now!

On top of what was mentioned:
                  - Daniel Jean Richard
                  - Glashutte Original (though not swiss, definitely not inferior to most swiss!)

Omega watches with the 8500 movement? Depending on one's perspective on the issue, it can be quite subjective.

You can definitely get a Rolex for under $10k. My boss just got a new Explorer for $9k. Also, I'm pretty sure you can get an entry level AP Royal Oak for around $10k.
