  • IWC Pilot Chronograph or Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL Chronograph?

Hey guys..need your opinions..I am looking at getting either one of the 2 pieces of watch I listed above..price wise they are pretty similar after discount...size wize IWC is smaller by 1mm which is not much..I may be wrong but I think both are using the same ETA movement..both feels good on the wrist..but I must say the Chopard garners more attention because of it's super shiny case and beefier profile..quite torn in between the 2..uploading pics for your comparison...

Any opinion guys? Which would you prefer as a brand and as a watch? Din wanna post in IWC subforum as it might be more biased against Chopard there..hahaha!

Throwing another watch into the ring..Breitling Navitimer World..it comes in biggest amongst them at 46mm..there is a smaller Navitimer 01 at 43mm but I feel the dial is too busy and cramp at that size..price is pretty close to the IWC and Chopard after discount..pics below...

Thanks for your opinion..although I hate to admit it but I guess because of branding IWC would seem as a bona fide watch house as compared to Chopard due to their jewellery business though Chopard started as watch makers too..

IWC. Its a timeless design. The chopard is cool but I would get tired of it later on.

Interesting to see almost everyone prefers the IWC to Chopard!

Issit because of the brand itself? Or issit just between this 2 watches most prefer the Pilot Chrono?

Think it depends on what you are trying to collect for history or brand sake or are you into plane or cars...
IWC pilot watches have more history to it. It was one of the 5 watch makers commisson by the Luftwaffe to produce navigation watches for their pilots during WW2. Chopard one has some historty not sure about it but the grand turismo races was an italian race series...

Go for IWC or Breitling Navitimer World. I would prefer IWC as it's simpler. The additional GMT hand for Breilting Navitimer World complicates the dial but it's nevertheless a useful feature if you are a avid traveller.

I would go for the Chopard cos IWC is too mainstream & everyone seems to have one. No doubt IWC is one of the original pilot watches during WWII but then again other brands have a rich history too like Longines' Charles Lindberg or Ulysse Nardin's marine chronometers for sailors in the early years. I owned a few IWCs & frankly, I only like the 7Days Portuguese cos of its in-house movement & simple design. It really depends what are you looking for, design, history, uniqueness or resale value.

BTW, I love Breitling too cos they are pretty good dive watches & that Saturday Night Fever guy is wearing it around the world! Good luck & see which watch speaks to your heart.
