Just found out recently, national servicemen who have completed their service are now given the Swiss Military watch instead of the previous Hamilton watch (both quartz)

Swiss Military (new, after Oct2012) - notice it says 'Swiss Made'

All the while i thought that after my generation which are mostly issued with Hamilton quartz model, then the sportier one in your first picture. Then followed by the few models reported by yeoman...

Prefer the Hamilton, I collect Military watches and was lucky to pick up both versions of the SAF Hamilton's at China Square Sunday market about 6 months ago. The hamilton is large and functional and with a bezel its a great sports watch.

another look at the new Swiss Military - will be collecting mine in one month's time

bezel looks out of proportional compared to the dial
dial is too small for the case size
chapter ring too thick
not sure why the weird orientation of numbers 1 - 12 on the chapter ring

now you understand how an ugly design can be made to look even uglier

someone commented this Swiss Military cost alot more than the Hamilton - not sure how true is this
probably because its made in Switzerland

Design wise, HAMILTON is more dressy.
CX SWISS MILITARY is indeed more ex than HAMILTON. Just look at their quartz Chrono @ Gnomon, and you'll be able to judge how much will this quartz M.R. gift can be priced.

I like the Hamilton. Gotton mine last year but don't really intend to wear it. This will jut be a exhibition piece for me to tell grandfather stories next time haha.
