I know a much better review had been done on the regular model of this watch so I shan't go into too much detail. Came across this watch in late September 2012. Liked it almost immediately.
I actually saw the LE 100 pieces model first (yellow hands and markers). But stumbled on this LE 1000 pieces later on (red hands and markers) and decided on the latter because it's more than $1,000 cheaper and I prefer red and black combo.
I've never really been a fan of Brietling watches in the past. I find them too busy looking - from the dial to the bezel and even to the bracelet.
I liked this blacksteel edition because:
1) it's not exactly black but more like a gun metal grey shade. Kinda reminds me of the colour you see in the Stargate portal in the series.
2) it gives it an updated, morden, even avant-garde look, imo.
3) the finish looks more than decent. It's pretty top notch imo.
4) It fits rather nicely on my minuscule 6.75' wrist.
5) I like the heft of this watch.
6) tried and tested eta 2824-base movement (b17).
What I find were a let down:
1) the rubber straps has a burnt rubber stench.
2) didn't come with the deployant buckle.
3) there were tears on both straps and I had to bring it back to the C. Melchers office to have them swopped.
