My female colleague who wanted to buy a new watch for her dad came to me to seek advice. When I asked her quartz or automatic, she went blank.
Thus quartz watches acquired a new nickname, called the battery watch...
and she is now of the opinion that "battery watches" means low end.
Of coz Rolex and Omegas have their respectable quartz, not to mention that MOST of the tag heuer watches are quartz....
Its a nightmare educating these non WIS and i cannot imagine how this colleague may now go pointing at other people's tag heuer and going, "ah that is a battery watch... "
