How about a Tudor Heritage Black Bay, which is quite competitively priced?

Have a look at the German micro brands such as Damasko, Sinn and Stowa. Fits the bill and offers great value for money with very fine worksmanship.

I think a good thing to consider would be how you would dress daily as well. But I agree with icy.mint the heritage black bay is beautifully made and well priced at the same time

I second the post on german watches! Brands like damasko, sinn, stowa are well within your range.. Check out the chronograph watch from Stowa! If you want something more hardy, the damasko chronos will fit the bill too!
