Is it worth to buy a discontinued model?

what i have noticed in people tend to jack up the prices of the watches (sometimes quite ridiculously) when it is discontinued.

a fine e.g. is the AP 15300 which i was trying to purchase.
used to be ard 11.5-12k for less than a 1 yr old H series.
now more than 4yr old models appear in the market (F series) at that price
