Yeah, the LE looks nice, but I don't have spare cash to blow for collectors' items...

if u can stretch the budget just a little, I would prefer to go for Sinn or Alpina. You can even check out Ball! Better choice than hamilton/tissot for budget of 2k++.

Too bad that you had tamba your dollars too fast on Stowa. With that price, you can get 2 VFM 7750s... from Steinhart that is...

Think you can consider a Tag Heuer if you want a more polished and dressy type of watch. If you are into a little bit of sporty, then can also consider a Fortis and Oris. These 3 brands of watches are around the price range of $3k.
Surf their websites, ask around and go to the watch shops and touch and feel the watches and see which one you really like. Take your time to choose. Don't rush. After all a good mechanical chronograph watch that you like will definitely keep you company for a long long time to come. Hope you can find the watch that you like.

Try this one Archimede Fliger Chrono if you are still considering. looks a lot like its IWC cousin which is easily 6X the price...

I think a pre-loved omega speedmaster professional can be had for below $3k. Love the hesalite domed crystal!!

Preowned is one way to get a pretty decent chrono mechanical watch say omega.

Otherwise, you can consider some micro brands like hamilton jazzmaster auto chrono watch is probably about $2K-ish for certain models. I saw it on an local online website.

It is fairly dressy though it may not be in the class of IWC an B&R.

Happy searching. Once you find it, you will wear it.
