Iwc mark xvi

Been looking at iwc pilot again recently.

Previously almost bought pilot chrono 371701.
But I hoot another watch eventually .

Now looking at mark xvi. Cleaner dial.

Like to ask here:

1. It's AR both sides right. Does the top AR kena scratches easily?

2. Anyone fitted it with a thicker strap? The stock strap looks thin.

Yes my 2012 target is to sell down collection and stop buying.
Save $$$ for retirement. So just looking.

I owned it for a while some time back. Did not sustain any "AR scratch", so it was ok. But be mindful that different people; different style of wearing. No I did not fit it with a thicker strap, else the thin & elegantly sized case will be a 'mismatch'. I still miss it till to-date. It was listed at $5,600 when I bought then.

I think the dial looks clean n neat.

5600 list is quite a lot. probably higher now.

FYI current retail price is 6k. Indeed it is really a very nice and simple classic pilot watch.

This year IWC will be releasing Mark XVII which is 2 millimetres larger at 41 millimetres.
