  • U1 - Crystal AR coating Query

Is it true that U1's crystal AR coating will cause persistent watermark stains that require serious polishing to remove ?

    SMEs, pse advise.

From my understanding, AR coating is very similar to that used on glasses / spectacles when you do a multi-coating.

As long as the surface is NOT subjected to any strong cleaning agent (like dish washing soap / grease removing detergents), it should not deteriorate or remove the AR coating... Best is you use very mild and diluted cleaning soap if you really need to use any to prevent any AR "shedding" spots...

Any brothers here can further confirm or clear my understanding on this?

    Desired horologes ...

Thks, Bro. This 2nd chap that I mentioned actually remove his AR coating using "DIY diamond polishing paste" to prevent it from happening again ? strange huh?

same as yrs, no scratches on u1 crystal yet so i guess i won't touch it yet. itching to try it on my Omega PO though. AR really serves no purpose other than purely aesthetics. look at rollies sporties.
