  • How to authenticate a vintage Tudor Prince Oysterdate?

    Hi all,

I wish to enquire with all the experts here on how to tell if a vintage Tudor is genuine or not.

Here are the pictures to the watch which my friend is interested to purchase:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=350494974663

Any help or inputs will be greatly appreciated as this is his first time looking to buy a Tudor watch for his own birthday!

    Thanks!

There is a problem loading the page from the link, so I can't advise you even if I want to.

if watch is overseas, there are quite a number of precaution measures to take.

read this thread for more input.

as to how to authenticate if the watch is not in sg, it is pretty tough. there is a possiblity that seller can use a real watch to entice buyers and deliver another watch. so buyer have to base on the seller reputation.

buyer should always consider to use paypal whenever possible to protect interest. bank wire transfer is the last resort and only if you totally trust the seller.

My general advice is don't buy any watch from eBay unless you know the person or have friends who can vouch for them. Too many scams on eBay. If your friend is keen on vintage Tudors...generally safer to look at those on vintagerolexforum. Not to say no scammer there too but way lower risk.
