I wouldn't use the word "replica" actually... that sounds too "bootleg"/"knock off"/"pirate".
ROLEX's submariner is also a homage of another classic brand, just that i can't remember...

The submariner design can be found in many other brands of watches, with minor or fine adjustment on design.

Aiyah, they can alway source from other manufacturer within Swiss or from the east. For personalized "high end" movement, there used to be BNB but they got swallowed by hublot sometime back and hublot kept claiming they are making in-house movement when they actually out-sourced to BNB prior to their acquisition. Now there Concepto that does similar role as BNB. They already supply movement to RJ and LW to name a few. For ETA replacement, there soprod to selitta and concepto too and many others. Issues is whether they can cover the volume that ETA used to supply. In fact some already using miyota and etc.
They may even use sea gull since sea gull already supply watch part to Swiss manufacturers so buying the whole movement also not surprise as they just need to change a few parts and do some minor modification and the whole watch can be labelled as Swiss made. Haha.

Besides ETA, the current SWISS movement makers available for small watch company choices are:-
                    SOPROD- mechanical, mostly expensively priced
SELLITAs- mechanical, competitively priced against ETA, but seroiusly lack of production capability
CLARO SEMAG- mechanical, SWISS assembled movement with parts mostly from china, and very little content from Switzerland
RONDA- mechanical, electronic- mechanical movements from RONDA is not commonly available, electronic quartz dominates the market
                    ISA- electronic

So... SELLITAS seems to be a better choice, but due to its limited production volume, you could hardly see the movement being used in most big names watch produce.

Be it ETA or alternative, one thing is certain. Price will not head south!
